Your snowboard pants should be a reflection of how you ride. From the fit to material and features, choosing the right pant will enhance your style/fit and waterproof/breathable. For riders of all snowboardll levels, the right apparel is key for success and enjoyment on the slopes.
Christy Sports offers a wide selection of snowboarding pants with multiple levels of insulation and protection from the elements. From beginners to seasoned veterans, all riders will find the right snowboard pants for their snowboardlls and levels of activity.
Fit - While many snowboard apparel companies have catchy appealing names for different fits, the basics of each fit are similar. Slim, original and baggy fits are the most common, and Christy Sports offers all three.
Waterproofing - Christy Sports pants are treated with one of two waterproofing techniques, each providing different degrees of protection.
Shell - For riders in a warmer or drier climate, a laminated or coated pant without insulation will be adequate for staying dry. A laminated or coated garment is ideal for riders who like to layer but don't want to be hindered by the bulk of more insulated pants. Due to the lack of insulation, these pants are not as warm and layering is highly suggested.
Insulated - For colder climate riders, a pant with built-in insulation is a must. With much more warmth than shell pants, insulated pants are available in different types and degrees of warmth.
The most common insulation for snowboard pants is polyester or a synthetic insulation, both of which are measured in grams. Insulation is measured in the same way that waterproofing and breathability are measured: The higher the gram count, the more insulated the pant. Highly insulated pants are recommended for riders who are enjoying their sport in very cold climates, who do not like to layer or who have a more laid-back riding style. The drawback to a highly insulated pant is somewhat limited mobility.
We have a pant to fit every level, price point and style of rider. Our brand offerings include 686, Bonfire, Burton, Capel, Ride and Volcom.
686 - Originally founded by Michael Akira West as a business plan project while studying at the University of Southern California, the brand launched officially in 1992. As his vision evolved, 686 began providing high quality outerwear and technical apparel inspired by a unique aesthetic blend of Los Angeles street culture and subdued mountain lifestyle.
The company's trademark line, Smarty, is an established and valued collection among Christy's Sports product offerings. The Smarty line is comprised of products with a detachable liner, giving riders the flexibility to be warm on the mountain with the liner intact, but style/fitable sitting by a fire in the lodge with the liner removed.
Bonfire Snowboarding Company - Borne out of Portland, Ore., in 1989, the Bonfire Snowboarding Company features gear tailored for Portland's unique conditions and climate. With the wet, heavy snow climate of Mount Hood in mind, the brand's products are technically based and boast waterproofing degrees above 10,000mm in protection.
Burton - A founding father in the world of snowboarding equipment and apparel, Jake Burton Carpenter remains the sole owner and CEO of Burton Snowboards. Since Burton began producing outerwear in the early 1980s, the company has grown to become one of the largest in the snowboarding industry. With an expansive catalog and product range, Burton has the right gear for every rider, from the beginner on the starter hill to the life-long shredder.
Your snowboarding experience really does depend on the quality of your gear. For riders who are ready to get serious about their apparel, Christy's Sports has just what you're looking for.
