First off, I got this jacket at an unbelievable price, so I was already excited to try it out. It is my first Orage product that I have purchased, and already I'm looking to get some pants to go along with it.

I've only had the pleasure to use it 3 times so far this season, but each time it has done its job. None of the times had heavy snowfall, mostly in the 10's-upper-20's. The first day I had a down vest on underneath it, but had to remove the vest after a few runs because I heated up quickly. The jacket has a nice amount of insulation, although on really cold days I would most likely use that down vest. But anything above 10 it is warm enough with just a base-layer and a T-shirt. The coat is loaded with features. So many pockets to stash goods, a removable powder skirt, removable hood, core pit zip vents, hand gaiters (probably my favorite feature) the list goes on. I tested out the water repellency at home using the sleeve and running some tap water. The water just slide right off, close to no residue left over on the sleeve. The same goes for snow, I was not in deep powder but had some nice falls, the snow just swept right off.

I really do not have any gripes about this coat. The only things that I can think of are minimal. First off, I seem to get very hot in the sleeve/wrist area. This maybe because I use the hand gaiters, then use my glove draw cords to close the glove over the gaiter, and then use the coats velcro straps to clove the coat over the glove. Again this is not a large issue as I can easily open the wrist strap to allow for some breathing. The next minor detail is that the powder skirt is just tight enough, and possibly maybe on the loose side. I'm 5'9'' 145 lb and got a M. The fit is good for on the hill, but may seem a bit on the baggy/loose side for off the mountain use. The skirt (when closed) seems to just hug my waist, it would be nice if it was just a bit tighter. Other than that I have nothing but excellent things to say about this coat. I would recommend it to anyone, especially at the price Christy's is offering it. This coat is a steal
