My daughter searched the internet and picked out this jacket for her birthday present. I HATED spending that much money on a jacket, but gave in this year. It just came in the mail and it is a gorgeous jacket, the navy blue version. It isn't a heavy jacket as noted by its insulation ratings, but is so much more than just a liner jacket. With a t-shirt, and fleece pullover under this jacket, she should be fine in the Michigan winter. As for sizing, I ordered a small, but almost got a medium. Glad I stuck with the small. I can wear it, being a 5'7"/130 lbs. I generally wear a small, but have notice with coats, that doesn't give much room. This coat fits perfect on me, sleeve length is good, loose enough in shoulders and hips. So for my kid, 5'5" and 115, it will be a little bit roomy, but not huge on her. I thought the dark color in the picture might be black, but it is a dark blue. It is a bit more vibrant in color than the picture shows, but I know she will love it. Unfortunately I bought off white pants to go with it, and the white is true white on this jacket. She'll have to deal with that though.
The quality seems top notch. There is no liner, but the inside is quilted. The zipper worked smoothly, sometimes you have to fiddle with those, but this one I didn't. I didn't see a way to tighten the hood down, there is elastic , so it looks like it will stretch over a helmet and stay tight that way.
Christys is a good seller in my book. I picked out another jacket first and ordered it, but they didn't have it in stock, and so they gave me 10% off my next order. Plenty fair in my opinion, so I spent more money and got this. I might even wear it when my kid isn't around, cool jacket indeed.
